Direct from Broadway, the Jumpin', Jivin' Musical SWING!, comes to Jones Hall, located at 615 Louisiana, Houston, Texas
in the Downtown Theater District, March 26 - 31, 2002 from Broadway in Houston, presented by the Society for the
Performing Arts.
A celebration of the music and dance craze that swept the nation in the '30s and '40s, SWING! Opened on Broadway in
October, 2000 to powerful praise for its music, dance and style. Clive Barnes of The New York Post called SWING! "a
major breakthrough and the most exhilarating show in town!" So much more than a dance revue, SWING! Crosses ethnic
and cultural barriers with an electric mix of Jive, Latin Swing, West Coast Swing, Hip - Hop and Country Western Swing.
Nominated for six Tony Awards, SWING was also honored with nominations by the Outer Critics Circle and Grammy
Awards committee.
Featuring new and classic songs and over 30 tour de force dance numbers, SWING also boasts spectacular vocal
performance. Driven by the dynamic sound of a hot neo - Swing band, the show is punctuated with such all - time great swing
tunes as "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Harlem Nocturne," "It Don't Mean a Thing, If It Ain't Got That Swing," "Jumpin' at the
Woodside," "Sing, Sing, Sing," "Stompin' at the Savoy" and "Blues in the Night."
SWING! Positively Cooks, You'll Be Dancing In Your Seat."

"
..ANYONE WHO CAN KEEP THEIR FEET STILL, WHO CAN KEEP A SMILE OFF THEIR
LIPS, WHO CAN KEEP THEIR EYES FROM OPENING WIDE WITH WONDER, WHO CAN
KEEP FROM LAUGHING OUT LOUD - WELL, SUCH A PERSON SHOULD MAKE SURE
THEIR WILL IS IN ORDER AND FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE ALL SETTLED."
