JEKYLL & HYDE
The Broadway Musical
JONES HALL
April 25 - 30, 2000
TICKETS NOW ON SALE

JEKYLL & HYDE, the hit musical currently in its third "killer" year on Broadway,
comes to Houston's Jones Hall April 25 - 30, 2000. One of New York's biggest hits,
JEKYLL & HYDE features a book and lyrics by two-time Academy Award-winning
lyricist Leslie Bricusse and a score by Grammy Award-nominated composer Frank
Wildhorn.

An evocative tale of romance and the epic battle between good and evil, JEKYLL &
HYDE brings new life to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story. A whirlwind odyssey
pitting man against himself is set into motion when the brilliant Dr. Jekyll's medical
experiment backfires, giving life to Edward Hyde, his evil alter ego.

Starring Chuck Wagner (Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde), the Broadway tour of
JEKYLL & HYDE adds another chapter to the musical's now legendary story.
JEKYLL & HYDE debuted in 1990 at Houston's Tony Award-winning Alley Theatre
(starring Chuck Wagner), breaking box office records and playing to sold out houses. At
that time, a recording of JEKYLL & HYDE was released and produced the hit songs
"Someone Like You" and "This Is The Moment" and has sold over 150,000 copies to
date. The success story gained momentum when stars such as Liza Minnelli and The
Moody Blues started performing and recording songs from the show. A subsequent
version of the complete score was recorded by Atlantic Records, which has sold more
than 100,000 double CD's.

Leslie Bricusse's more than 40 musicals and films include Victor / Victoria (both the film
and the hit Broadway stage version). Stop the World, I Want to Get Off, Sherlock Holmes,
Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and Goodbye Mr. Chips. Some of his popular
hits include: "What Kind of Fool Am I?," "Gonna Build A Mountain," "Goldfinger,"
"Can You Read My Mind?," (the theme from Superman) and "The Candy Man." He has
been nominated for ten Academy Awards, seven Grammy Awards and five Tony Awards
(including one for his Book of JEKYLL & HYDE). He has won two Oscars as well as
the Grammy and was elected to The Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1989. His most recent
West End production was the musical, Dr. Dolittle.

With the recent arrival of his newest musical, The Civil War, Frank Wildhorn has become
the first American composer in more than 20 years to have three original musicals
running simultaneously on Broadway. His compositions have spanned the worlds of
popular music to ballet, and from stage to film and television. Artists which have
recorded and performed his songs include: Whitney Houston, Kenny Rogers, Natalie
Cole, Sammy Davis, Jr., Julie Andrews, Liza Minnelli, The Moody Blues, Tricia
Yearwood, Peabo Bryson, Linda Eder, Betty Buckley, John Raitt, Brenda Russell, Tracy
Lawrence, Michael Feinstein, Jeffrey Osborne and Carol Anderson. In addition to
JEKYLL & HYDE, he is currently represented on Broadway by another hit, The Scarlet
Pimpernel. Upcoming musical scores/productions include Havana and Svengali. Frank
is Creative Director of Atlantic Records' new division, Atlantic Theatre and an Associate
Artist of The Alley Theatre.

The JEKYLL & HYDE Broadway Tour is produced by SFX Theatrical Group and FOX
Theatricals in association with Jerry Frankel. Ken Gentry is Executive Producer and
General Manager. The production is directed by David Warren based on the original
Broadway direction of Robin Phillips. The Broadway Tour features Scenic Design by
James Noone, based upon his and Robin Phillips' scenic design of the original Broadway
production (for which he and Mr. Phillips received the Drama Desk Award as well as the
prestigious American Theatre Wing Design Award), Costume Design by Ann Curtis (for
which she received a Tony Award nomination), Lighting Design by Beverly Emmons
(for which she received the American Theatre Wing Design Award and a Tony Award
nomination) and Choreography by Jerry Mitchell.
